Hello everyone.  We are almost there!!!

Objectives:

1. Talk about problems that occur when using the Internet in the classroom and suggest possible solutions.

2. Submit your final project.

Activities:

1.  Complete unfinished tasks.

2.  View as many recommended Web sites, resources, and participants' responses as possible if you have not done so already.

3.  Group discussion at Internet4younglearners at .

Follow up of last week's discussion.

We have talked about problems that occur in the classroom.

What can we do to handle them?  Give us possible solutions.

4.  Alternate live discusssion at the Webheads' Virtual Office located in Learning Times (LT).  Join us for Chat #2 if you are able; this is not a requirement, as we recognize that some of you may not have the technical capacity or the time to participate in the live chat. That is why this is only an alternative discussion.  If you are unable to participate, you have the opportunity to participate at the Grouply discussion mentioned above.  We will have access to a fully featured web conferencing platform this week at the Webheads' Virtual Office in LearningTimes using Elluminate. To participate in voice chat,

  • You will need a headset with microphone, preferably USB and not wireless (Note: Both Mac and PC users' built-in systems cause feedback and therefore are not clearly transmitted which makes it difficult for you to be heard).

  •  Go to the Elluminate site to test out your equipment and complete Steps 1 and 2.
  • If you donĀ“t have Java on your computer, you will be prompted to install it.  (free)
  • We will use Yahoo (IM) as back channels to communicate via text if you are having technical difficulty entering the live chat. Please make sure you have added the moderators of the session to your contact lists.  (You can find all the names and Yahoo emails at the session's Frontpage.)
  • To enter the web conferencing room, you must have already joined Learning Times and received email confirmation.  http://www.learningtimes.net/index.shtml
  • When you are ready, proceed to the Webhead's Virtual Office (vRoom) and enter using the large green "Enter Now" button. http://home.learningtimes.net/learningtimes?go=273662

Important Note: Please do all of the above activities in advance to be prepared and have time to ask questions before we chat live.

5.  Complete your project on preparing a lesson with Internet- based activities and upload it at our activity wiki at  http://internet4ylactivities.pbworks.com/FrontPage. You can either upload a document and link it to our wiki or create a new wiki page - just follow the toolbar on the right.  Please try to have a look at lessons designed by other participants.
